Crime and Punishment is a leather bound book of 24 etchings.

It is a study of 24 people who were detained in the old police lock up (an austere two room granite cell) in Castlemaine between 1853 and 1953.

The book was first exhibited in the goal cell where individually each viewer would find the book aided only by torchlight.

It is a reflection on the evolution of criminal offences and their consequences.

Edition 3/15 to be acquired for the State Library of Victoria collection.
